Traditional Hypnosis

Eliminate unwanted behaviors or thinking. Is there an unwanted pattern of behavior or fear in your life you have that you would like to eliminate, but have not succeeded, no matter what you’ve tried? For example, fear of public speaking, uncontrollable anger, or the inability to manage stressful situations?

So often, we try to eliminate an unwanted behavior or thinking pattern by talking through it, such as with a therapist or counselor. In spite of the time expended in such sessions, the patterns persist. Why?

One primary reason is that traditional psychoanalytic methods either believe the behavior will eventually go away with time, or that by talking about it in depth the root cause will be uncovered and from that, the behavior can be eliminated. This is mostly “left-brain” work—the logical, rational, conscious side of the brain.

But behavioral patterns, whether constructive or unhealthy, reside in the subconscious and are not solved at the logical level of though. For example, you probably know how to ride a bike. Where does that ability reside? You guessed it--in the subconscious. Same with smoking and various other addictions.

This is where hypnotherapy comes in. It is designed to “park” the conscious mind in the background so that we can tap into the subconscious to address the behavior patterns directly, without resistance from the rational part of the brain. Hypnotherapy is a fast track to the source of many, if not most, unwanted behavior patterns, such as addictions, sleep disorders, handling stress, anxiety and public speaking.
